“We fundamentally altered it before the ink dried,” [London Lawyer, ON, Rob Talach] said.
Talach had been working with Julie Macfarlane, a retired University of Windsor professor, who founded the group Can’t Buy My Silence.
“It’s an incremental process, so there could be other fine-tuning to it, but the major shift changing ‘from a finding’ to an ‘allegation’ was a big success,” he said. “My understanding is that this is as good as gold at this point.”
Both MacFarlane and Talach had applied to address the committee reviewing the bill on Wednesday, but were not invited despite their years of experience and expertise.
